ABOUT:
The final conference of ODIHR’s Enhancing Stakeholder Awareness and Resources for Hate Crime Victim Support (EStAR) project provided a platform for the exchange of expertise on hate crime victim support. A host of high-level and expert speakers discussed hate crime prevention, the impact of hate crimes, community-police relations, trauma-informed victim support and criminal and restorative justice solutions.
The ODIHR event presented key findings of projects, set out good practices and outline further opportunities for research and policy action for effective hate crime victim support. The meeting also showcased key EStAR recommendations for policymakers, advisers, analysts and researchers to support the transformation of hate crime victims’ rights into practice.
